Greek and Roman myths through pictures and stories to be enjoyed for their own sake, but also worthy of consideration as cultural models, illustrating traditions and beliefs we may consider part of a remote past, yet are still relevant to the issues and themes of today.
Mythologica explores the metamorphosis of these ancient tales through a series of lectures held by two experts. In the first part classicists tells the story of the myth and explain its cultural meaning, in the second part an art historian, a writer, a film director or a songwriter examines the different aspects and adaptations of the same myth and its fluctuating fortunes through the centuries.
