Yes! We’re Open

Yes! We’re Open, curated by Fabio Novembre and with an introduction by Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, is a volume that collects the journey in the past 10 years of the Lavazza Calendar and tells the Lavazza Foundation’s commitment to communicating issues of great importance with the involvement of the leadingr photographers on the international scene. ‘Sustainability’ is the key word that guides a series of interviews curated by Mario Calabresi with some of the calendar’s photographers, among whom Steve McCurry, Denis Rouvre and Ami Vitale, as well as personalities such as Francesca Lavazza, Carlin Petrini and Massimo Bottura. For Lavazza the calendar is not just a tool to mark time but a key to understanding contemporaneity and a work of art. Just for that, year after year, the best international photographers have been involved, asked to share their perspective not only about the Lavazza world but, more generally, about the world where we live today. Here are some of the names involved: Martin Schoeller, Steve McCurry, Joey L., Denis Rouvre, Platon, Ami Vitale, David LaChapelle, Christy Lee Rogers, Emmanuel Lubezki, Charlie Davoli, Toiletpaper, Simone Bramante, Eugenio Recuenco, Martha Cooper, Carlyn Drake. The book is an extraordinary journey around the world throughout photographs, interviews and testimonials of those who have contributed in different ways Lavazza’s declination of the concept of sustainability and, at the same time, it is an invitation to awareness and responsibility towards the present world. A map guides the reader also delighted by an artistic intervention specially realised for the volume by Emilio Isgrò.
