[Villa Adriana / Ancient landscape and modern environment] The proceedings of a conference held at Palazzo Massimo alle Terme of Rome on 23-24 June 2000, the “II Encuentro de Areas Arquelógicas Adrianeas”, like the first held in 1999 at the University of Seville, Spain. The Villa has been granted the status of a “World Heritage Site”.
With drawings, plans and photographs, the architectural restoration of the monumental archaeological complex has been analyzed in all its aspects. The book has three sections: Research at Hadrian’s Villa (excavations, finds, sculpture and portraits, architecture and water); The Places of Hadrian (the Library at Athens and Italica in Andalusia); Landscape and archaeological areas (restoration of the greenery and the botanical heritage).
