Tullio Pericoli, a well-known satirical illustrator, and the decoration of the Sala Garzanti in Milan.

In the tradition of the refined fresco decorations of private homes in the Renaissance, in 1988 Tullio Pericoli rose to the challenge of creating, in a room in the Garzanti publishing house in Milan, a surprising wall painting: famous literary faces, from Carlo Emilio Gadda to Pasolini, Calvino to Luzi, join the famous publications of the renowned Milanese company, against the backdrop of an airy hillside landscape. A well-known satirical illustrator working with Italy’s leading newspapers, Pericoli reveals his extraordinary versatility in this work. The catalogue of the exhibition held in Ascoli Piceno in 2000 analyzes this unique creation through reproduction of the preparatory cartoons, sketches and drawings.
