The first monograph on the large Pascali Collection at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna (GNAM) in Rome, which was donated by the artist's parents when he died.
Pino Pascali’s works are held by major Italian and international museums and collections. Nineteen works from these various collections, produced between 1964 and 1968, which bring into focus the artist’s various creative periods were featured in an exhibition at the GNAM. Pascali was a versatile and modern artist who was equally at home with set design, sculpture, painting and advertising, and his work is completely original with respect to the Arte Povera movement with which he is associated. The volume is enriched by photographs that have never been published before, the artist’s writings from the GNAM archives, and the first reprint, since 1969, of a list of works compiled by Sandra Pinto, which is now a valuable source of documentation.
