The first exhibition dedicated to Osvaldo Licini after the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of his death. The only Italian painter whose style can be compared to that of Paul Klee.
English edition.
From Harbor and Winter, two of Licini’s works displayed at the GAM, one forms an impression of the unusual abstract art of Osvaldo Licini, far-removed from that of other Italian painters.
His painting is sheer poetry, powerfully lyrical. One comes into contact with it through confrontations with the painters whom Licini regarded as being closest to his own creative sensitivity: Matisse, Kandisky, Morandi, Modigliani and Klee.
