During the exhibition at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples, “Alexander the Great and the East” (29 May-28 August 2023), the fourth volume of the children’s series on Nico is being published. Nico is the hero of the comic strip written and drawn by Blasco Pisapia. He guides children and young people to discover the wonders of the museum.
This time Nico finds himself exploring the immense empire conquered by Alexander the Great, coming into contact with different cultures, encountering customs and traditions unknown to him, always accompanied by his faithful friend the Dancing Faun.
This is an opportunity to test his sense of adaptation and learn as much as possible from all the peoples he meets, from Egypt to India, Greece and Persia, through some of the Wonders of the Ancient World, including the Pyramid of Cheops, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus.
This book for readers aged eight and over is an itinerary of discovery that explores notions of history and archaeology, without sacrificing a metatemporal approach: thanks to the fantastic characters in the story, readers can pore over themes such as encounters with different cultures, curiosity, discovery and the pleasures of travel.
