A designer of clothes and accessories, as well as of furnishings and interiors for Bianca e Blu, Monica Bolzoni holds a unique place in the recent history of European fashion. Her design approach, her way of combining materials and forms, and her ability to metabolize contemporary culture and translate it into clothing belong in the tradition of basic design. The connection between body and dress resonates in the relationship that Bolzoni has established when designing clothes, accessories, and costumes for art and theater. Her poetics and practice extend from clothing to packaging, while also integrating the use of video and photography. This book, published on the occasion of the Monica Bolzoni exhibition at Triennale Milano (October 25, 2024 – January 12, 2025) documents more than 30 years of her activity with essays, interviews, photographs, drawings, and previously unpublished material.
