This publication on Erwin Wurm is the first in a new Electa series for MACRO, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, covering the site-specific projects installed in the hall of the museum.

Innovative in its format and contents, Macro Hall is halfway between a traditional catalogue and a magazine: it offers photographic documentation of all the phases of construction of an exhibition, and a series of interviews that bring out the viewpoints of curators and the creative processes of the artists. Visitors also have a role to play, as each catalogue will also include the questions and curiosities raised by the works on display. In this first publication Edwin Wurm presents three works whose themes, size and narrative profile reflect three distinct aspects of his research: from the ironic gigantism of ‘Fat House’ to the Lilliputian fable of ‘Butterbrot I’, all the way to the hallucinatory perception shift of ‘Truck’, a work specially prepared for the occasion and co-produced by MACRO.
