The catalogue is devoted to the artistic output of Luciano Baldessari, a complete artist, capable of expressing himself in many fields of art and design, presented in a refined exhibition presented during the Biennale Architettura 2023 at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice from 5 May to 26 November 2023, in conjunction with the Biennale Architettura. Dedicated to works from the twenties and forties, it made it possible to appreciate the versatility and radical freedom of the artist, who was able to cross currents with an eclectic and innovative sensibility. His work, focused on personal perception, exploration, the pleasure of movement and freedom of expression, was combined with the idea of constructing a new world promoting diversity, creativity and freedom of thought.
To Luciano Baldessari, designing in theatrical terms meant thinking in motion: trajectories, glimpses, chiaroscuro animate his volumes, whether they are true theatrical sets or domestic interiors, installations for art exhibitions or industrial pavilions. Thanks to his broad visual knowledge and power of accumulation, Baldessari was able to create artworks reflecting his great creativity and a rare talent for integrating different styles and influences into a single, coherent vision.
