L’idea di una Nuova Comunità

Don Gino Rigoldi’s Comunità Nuova attempts to decipher the mechanisms behind the social issues around us and how to deal with them. To offer a measured contribution seemed to me, as an individual first rather than as an architect second, a primary inspiration motivating my enthusiasm for my work. And the whole project forged ahead despite there being, incredibly, no accepted models, either for them or us. Which meant that it was all purely based on listening carefully to their needs, functions and desires, leaving us to try and interpret everything in the spaces available.
And as an architect I can say that what transpired was anything but banal, although it may well be unrepeatable.
