L’altra collezione Storie e opere dai depositi della Galleria Nazionale delle Marche

As part of the important redevelopment projects that have been affecting the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche for some years now, one of the areas that has recently undergone reorganisation and rearrangement is the deposits.

Subject to an important museographic reassessment, deposits are now considered a vital and strategic space of museums. They are increasingly being seen as places for the natural conservation and care of artistic artefacts (despite the prospect of exceptional events and scenarios, such as the natural disasters that are disrupting the Italian territory with increasing frequency) and resources to be rediscovered by visitors. This exhibition, and the catalogue that documents it, aims to present “another collection”, that of the works not generally visible to the public, offering original historical and artistic readings of them. These have also been made possible by the restoration campaign, fully represented in the volume by photographs and the related entries, which make it possible to add new elements of interest and study. An invitation to rediscover the stories and artists who have made the Marche a land of choice for art and culture.
