A remarkable rapport between an archeological heritage and the works of three of the greatest modern sculptors: Tony Cragg, Jan Fabre and Mimmo Paladino.
The catalogue explores a synergic relationship between past and present through the works of artists who have transformed and given new meaning to a place steeped in history and memory.
Over 40 projects created especially for Archeological Park of Scolacium are presented: Cragg’s imposing sculptures that find an ideal location in the Forum; Paladino’s primordial figures that establish a perfect dialogue with the Roman theatre; and the mysterious, alienating works of Fabre that are perfectly in harmony with spirituality of the medieval Basilica of Santa Maria della Roccelletta.
