This book devoted by Agata Boetti to her father, is a “sampler” that with texts and images renders the kaleidoscopic personality of an absolute master of twentieth-century art. Everything or almost everything is known about his work. But who was Alighiero as a father? In this volume, Agata, the master’s second daughter, recounts the more private side of Boetti and ventures an unprecedented interpretation of his art. We discover a playful dimension pervading not only Alighiero’s work but also his life, conveying an original image of him, quite different from the stereotype of a father. Written for his grandchildren, to enable them to really know their grandfather, apart from the exhibitions, catalogues and archives, the book is accompanied by a very rich collection of images, nearly all previously unpublished, owned by Agata Boetti.
