A guide to the famous Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci and the complex of the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a church particularly cherished by the people of Milan. Japanese edition.
[The Last Supper / Guide to the Refectory and Santa Maria delle Grazie] With contributions by various authors, the first part of the guide reconstructs the history and meaning of the famous Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci, now open to the public after over twenty years of restoration work.
The second is on the complex itself, including the refectory containing the fresco and the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a church particularly cherished by the people of Milan, and renowned for its tribune by Bramante.
After an essay on the church and the convent from the foundation to the intervention of Bramante, another article describes the decorative interventions for the interiors, and all the works conserved at the site, in chronological order.
The guide also includes a plan of the entire complex.
