A book on the most famous italian avant-garde in its centenary year.
The celebrations for the Centenary of Futurism had to include a study on Futurist involvement in the Biennales in Rome, the Venice Biennale and the Quadriennales, and this is filled with previously unseen documents and illustrations. Introductory essays by the editors are followed by in-depth analysis of the preparations for the exhibitions, the agreements and the correspondence between artists and organisers and a press review of the exhibitions, all supported by previously unpublished papers, witness accounts and period pictures. The book ends with a contribution by Matteo D’Ambrosio on the retrospectives on the movement and its leading representatives held by the Quadriennale.
