The volume is the catalogue of a group exhibition based on a residency programme for artists. The programme consisted of preparing a visual narrative of Venice based on direct experience. Five emerging artists from around the world were selected to create it.
The exhibition is being held at SPUMA – Space for the Arts on the Giudecca (concurrently with the 60th International Art Exhibition Foreigners Everywhere of the Venice Biennale), from 18 April to 24 November 2024. The artists selected are Alizée Gazeau (France), Marija Jaensch (the Netherlands), Amy Thai (Australia), Sofia Toribio (Argentina) and Jiaying Wu (China). The exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures, works on paper, textiles and installations, and is curated by Mara Hofmann and Nina Jung.
