Glenn Murcutt has built no fewer than 500 houses in Australia. This book, with respect to the one published in 1995, contains 10 new projects and many new images on the projects previously published.
[Glenn Murcutt.
All the works] In about thirty years of an unconventional career , Glenn Murcutt has constructed no fewer than 500 houses in Australia. Modest, severe or elegant in appearance, but always very personal, these machines for living in the landscape are recognized around the world today as models of ecological architecture. Murcutt works on his own and refuses to build in countries other than his native Australia.
This book, different from the one published in 1995 in the “Architectural Documents” series, has a range of different aims. Ten new buildings and projects have been added to the twenty-three projects contained in the previous edition.
Moreover, for each of the works previously published new images and drawings have been added. The introduction has also been revised, to account for changing production modes and recent developments, while discussing Murcutt’s possible impact on future generations.
