"A & A " is a new series of agile, economical, handy, authoritative monographs. It starts with the great figure of Giorgio Vasari.
The monograph on Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) has been published as part of the “Architettura e Architetti Classici” (Architecture and Classical Architects) series. It has been entrusted to the care and expertise of architectural historian Claudia Conforti, who formerly contributed to “Electaarchitettura”. The book offers a critical reading of the architectural works of a man universally known for his “The Lives of the Artists”. But Vasari was also an interpreter of the renewal of Florence ordered by Cosimo I de’ Medici, with his designs for the Uffizi and the restructuring of Palazzo Vecchio.
