The Ardea collection consists of over eighty works including
sculptures, sketches and medals, almost all in bronze,
produced by Manzù between 1927 and 1984,
and by some 330 works including drawings, engravings
and sketches of theatrical costumes made between 1940
and 1980.
The exhibition presents a selection of one hundred
drawings and engravings by the artist from 1937 to 1980,
most of which have very rarely bee exhibited to the public.
The chronological division will enable visitors to understand
the artist’s work, emphasizing its thematic cycles such as the
series of sketches devoted to Pope John XXIII, the Partisans,
his wife Inge and Gli Amanti.
