This book records the work of the factories that worked for the Italian company G.D in 17 countries around the world. It is a visual tour that combines art and industrial production through the photographic work of 18 contemporary artists of international standing who were asked to interpret a theme that has a rightful place in the history of photography, in keeping with a tradition inherited from masters such as Walker Evans, Edward Weston, Alfred Stieglitz, Robert Frank and Diane Arbus. “The camera sees more than the eye” said Edward Weston, one of the fathers of contemporary photography, stressing the possibility of using the camera to exalt the formal values in real life and make photographs more like paintings.
