Energy Portraits

Narrating through images the stories of watts and people; photography to document the challenge of universal access to modern and sustainable forms of energy which has become one of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations since 2015. This is Energy Portraits. Marco Garofalo’s photography enters the homes of a hundred families in four continents, Africa, South America, Europe and Asia, to tell in one format, the energy portrait, what access to energy is. A gateway to approach thorny current issues: poverty and inequality, of which the lack of access to energy is the cause and consequence, and the environmental issue: climate change triggered precisely by CO2 emissions from energy systems and whose impact is extreme on those who have no energy.
