A monograph that illustrates the architectural practice, technical and aesthetic research of one of the most highly acclaimed and prolific figures in contemporary architecture.

[Dominique Perrault. Projects and architecture] Dominique Perrault (born in 1953) is one of today’s protagonists of contemporary architecture. The list of projects and constructions is proof of his prolific energy, starting with the Superior School of Engineering of Marne-la-Vallée (1984-87), which quickly brought him to the attention of international architectural culture, to the completion of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris (1989-95), the high point of his career thus far. These two works are joined by a long series of important projects and constructions, first in France and then in Europe and Asia, which the book retraces, bringing out their distinctive characteristics: the decisive style, the free, pragmatic approach, open to compositional practice on both the small and the large scale. The projects illustrated with a fine selection of color photographs, drawings and working sketches clarify the very personal terms of his technical and aesthetic research.
