With this volume, on French drawings of the 17th and 18th centuries, the scientific cataloguing of the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe of the Gallerie dell'Accademia of Venice continues.
[French drawings] The systematic cataloguing of the permanent collection of the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe of the Gallerie dell’Accademia of Venice, which began in 1982, continues with an exhibition of French drawings from the 17th and 18th centuries, in keeping with the subdivision by schools with which the collection, previously belonging to the Milanese painter and collector Giuseppe Bossi, entered the Academy in 1822. This book contains about 30 works, many of great quality, most of which have never before been exhibited. They have been selected and studied with the usual passion and rigor by Pierre Rosenberg, the internationally renowned scholar of Italian and, above all, French civilization.
