A book on the work of the artist who, in 1954 in Novara, founded the School of Design, the first of its kind in Italy.
[Di Salvatore. Paintings, drawings, writings, teaching] Born in Verbania in 1924, Di Salvatore completed his studies in Milan and immediately began to work on painting, conducting his first research on the geometry of reality. In 1949 he joined the MAC group (Movimento Arte Concreta) with which he frequently participated in shows, along with Veronesi, Barisani, Munari and others. In 1954 in Novara he founded the School of Design, the first of its kind in Italy, which moved to Milan in 1970 under the name “Scuola Politecnica di Design”. Since the results of his research in painting could be productively analyzed through film, Di Salvatore has also worked in this field.
With an introductory essay by Luigi Lambertini, the book illustrates the artist’s work in different areas, with a fine selection of images.
