Published in honor of the scholar Paola Pelagatti, this volume contains many contributions on history, archaeology and classical antiquity.
[Damarato. Studies of classical antiquity dedicated to Paola Pelagatti] After taking a degree in Bologna with a thesis on ceramics, Paola Pelagatti worked for many years with the Italian School of Athens, participating in the excavation at Festòs; later she worked for different Fine Arts Services: first in Eastern Sicily, then in Piedmont and finally in Southern Etruria.
The book is dedicated to this outstanding scholar who was able to reconcile research activity with the role of a functionary. It contains many contributions on history, archaeology and classical antiquity. Paola Pelagatti can also be credited with starting a tradition of studies that revitalized the archaeology of the Magna Grecia, and many of the essays in this collection, including contributions by some of the most renowned experts on the ancient world, address this subject.
