The exhibition documented a key period in Turinese art, full of historical implications and rich in innovative ferments.
[Turinese Artistic Culture and National Policies 1920-1940] This exhibition at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, Rome, (December 2004 – February 2005) documented a period of fervid, extremely significant, artistic activity in the ex-capital of Italy. The works were grouped together in four sections: still lifes, nudes, portraits and landscapes. This division into genres highlights the artists’ difficult relationship with codified conventions and their attempt to develop the canons of a new school.
