The systematic catalogue of a great, fertile artist of the Italian 20th century.
[Cassinari / General catalogue of the paintings] Bruno Cassinari, a member of the “Corrente” group, published the magazine “Il ’45” in the immediate postwar period, together with Morlotti, Guttuso, Vittorini and De Grada. Initially attracted by the universe of Vincent Van Gogh and Expressionism, the painting of Cassinari later moved toward the influence of Modigliani and then the decisive encounter with Picasso. After the experimental phase his painting established its focus in the dialectic between color and structure.
This systematic catalogue, including all the oil paintings but excluding the works on paper, the graphics, sculpture, mosaics and stained glass, illustrates the path of the artist while documenting the circumstances that determined the evolution of the personality of one of the greatest Italian painters.
