Coinciding with the UIA, the Congress of International Union of Architects in Turin in July 2008, the ideas of architects and archistars on the subject of contemporary housing, an unusual combination of projects of past, present and future, for a renewed aesthetic and social reflection on housing.
The historical examples of the architecture of housing are contrasted with the ideas of artists on contemporary inhabiting. The future is united with the past, represented in the section with the leading works of young architects under 40 chosen by an international jury. Set within a striking framework of the full-scale architectures of housing created to projects by archistar: the “never-ending house” by Renzo Piano, the “ecological house” by MVRDV, the “green house” by Emilio Ambasz¿ in the park of the Milan Triennale.
