Recounting a thousand years from different perspectives: history, art, archaeology, territories. This is the ambition of the catalogue that accompanies the exhibition on Byzantium held at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples. The catalogue is divided into two parts: the first, available in paper format, comprises essays focused on the main aspects of Byzantine civilisation in its centuries of development and how it was manifested in the two regions that, with their finds, contributed to the project of the exhibition, namely Italy and Greece. The second part, downloadable with a QR Code on the printed volume, consists of the register of the exhibits.
The work brings together contributions by the major Italian specialists in Byzantine studies, joined by important international scholars, who offer an updated and scientifically rigorous vision of knowledge of the Byzantine world, without renouncing an immediate and accessible communicative style.
