The volume accompanies the exhibition held in Castell’Arquato at the Palazzo del Podestà from 25 May to 14 July 2024 and brings together the outcome of Albino Vescovi’s incessant, original and eclectic artistic research, in which his vocation as a painter is entwined with numerous architectural and design projects.
Born in Bern, Switzerland, in 1965, he graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano and opened his architecture office in Castell’Arquato in 1996. During his formative years he was a tireless traveller, visiting the main cities of Europe to discover the work of artists such as William Turner, Antoni Tàpies, Jean Dubuffet, Paul Klee and architects such as Marcel Breuer, Eero Saarinen, Gerrit Rietveld and Louis Kahn.
Vescovi’s artistic and architectural career is contextualized by critical contributions by Giuseppe Pannini, Donata Meneghelli and Sergio Buttiglieri. The final pages contain personal accounts by artists, entrepreneurs and collectors as well as a list of his works, a biography and bibliography.
Bilingual edition in Italian and English, translated by Richard Sadleir.
