After the huge success of the first exhibition narrating the history of the Colosseum, the closing date has now been postponed until11 March 2018. Located along the second level arcade of the famous arena, the exhibition covers not only Roman times, but all the long, eventful centuries of the Colosseum’s existencedown to the present day. Divided into twelve chronological sections, the exhibition examines the amphitheatre’s cultural and historical influence in various spheres of life; from painting to restoration, architecture and urban planning, entertainment and literature through to sociology and politics, while the same themes are also dealt with in the companion volumes “The Colosseum book” and “Colosseo”.
