Amate l’Architettura. Gio Ponti’s book on architecture in a new edition to mark the exhibition featuring his work in Paris
Paris pays homage to Gio Ponti with the exhibition, Tutto Ponti. Gio Ponti Archi-Designer at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Rue de Rivoli from 19 October 2018 to 10 February 2019. The exhibition showcases the architect’s long career from 1921 to 1978, featuring over 500 architectural and design pieces, furnishings, ceramics, lamps, glasses and magazines, many on show to the public for the first time.
To mark the occasion Rizzoli is issuing a reprint of Gio Ponti’s classic book Amate l'architettura. L'architettura è un cristallo, staying as faithful as possible to the 1957 original edition, designed by Gio Ponti himself as a form of pocket architecture. The slipcase will also contain a second volume: Una storia editoriale: schizzi, disegni, lettere, telegrammi, a collection of correspondence documenting the book’s development.
