Gianni Berengo Gardin. Roma
curated by Giuliano Sergio
The Casale di Santa Maria Nova is hosting the first major exhibition Gianni Berengo Gardin’s work devoted solely to the capital. A selection of seventy-five shots, including many unpublished ones, reveals the charm of Rome from the second post-war period to the present. The exhibition is a surprising fresco of the evolution and contradictions of the city. An overall portrait capable of capturing in the details, in the gestures and in the glances of the Romans that open and brazen frankness that distinguishes them. Poetry and beauty, strength and violence, historical architecture and the transformation of the suburbs weave a story a story full of emotion.
