Opening to the public on 7 September 2022 at Palazzo della Ragione in Mantua, in conjunction with the Festivaletteratura, is the exhibition devoted to Fortunato Depero (Fondo 1892 – Rovereto 1960),  the intelligent creator of the Futurist aesthetics theorised in the Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe, authored with Giacomo Balla in 1915. Depero Automatico Acrobatico will bring to Mantua for the first time some 80 significant works covering the timespan 1917-1938.

The exhibition has been conceived by Electa in collaboration with the Mart, Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, exclusively for the venue of Palazzo della Ragione. The curator is Nicoletta Boschiero, head of the Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero.

In the course of his long artistic achievement Depero created a total art form that ranged from painting to theatre, scenography, the applied arts, publishing and advertising, becoming one of the leading figures in of the Futurist movement. The exhibition is a journey through these many creative fields, divided into the three geographical stages of his artistic career: Capri, Paris and New York.
