A new guide, beautiful and essential, to the Ducal Palace of Urbino, which houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche. With accurate texts in Italian and English and detailed images, the volume describes one of the most beautiful and important places of art and one of the oldest museums in Italy. Distinguished art historians have directed the museum, established in 1912. Among others, they have included Lionello Venturi, Luigi Serra, Pasquale Rotondi and Paolo Dal Poggetto. Thanks to them, the exhibition space has been increased by recovering the rooms of the palace over time and through the necessary restoration work, while the museum layout has developed following a twofold purpose: on the one hand, to enhance the value of the Renaissance spaces with works of art related to its history and, on the other, to present masterpieces from the Marche region, documenting the regional artistic development and with it the Italian.
