A complete monographic study on the work of Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002), one of the most original designers of the twentieth century, active from the Thirties on.

An icon of Italy’s finest design culture, Castiglioni was capable of incorporating in his work discipline and rigour with a surreal and ironic vein. Thanks to his many ephemeral exhibition setups he contributed decisively to the evolution of the layout in museum exhibitions. He is also famous for his exquisite design pieces, many of which have become iconic like the Arco, Frisbi and Parentesi lamps, the San Luca armchair or the Bramante and Leonardo da Vinci table. These pieces are clear examples of Castiglioni’s talent for anticipating the evolution of fashion and taste.
This book is the result of research undertaken by Sergio Polano, one of the most rigorous experts in the field of applied arts. Polano was able to study the architect’s personal archive, discovering important unpublished illustrations which proved vital to his research.
