Winner of a prize at the Venice Biennial in 2001, Paola Pivi has participated in many group shows. The exhibition at the Macro (27 Sept 2003 – 4 Jan 2004) is her first solo show in an Italian museum. For this exhibition the artist has created an evocative photography installation, whose protagonists are zebras seen amidst the snow-capped mountains of the National Park of Abruzzo. In her works Paola Pivi attempts to reveal the absurd aspects of reality, represented in an apparently spectacular way, utilizing different means: from the most common objects to the most sophisticated media.
