Enzo Sellerio: an Italian master of photography.
With his first work, Borgo di Dio, 1955, Enzo Sellerio joined the ranks of the masters of neorealist photography, but toward the end of the 1950s his style changed radically. In 1960 he completed the reportage Palermo. Portrait of a city and two years later he made the major work The towns of Aetna, finding a definitive place on the international photography scene. A well-rounded intellectual, Sellerio combines very high technical and formal quality with an extraordinary capacity for interpretation in his photography. His images offer a fascinating, original portrait of the people and land of Sicily.
