One hundred years of history of Opera Bevilacqua La Masa, an itinerary of memory, to rediscover Venetian artistic culture in the 20th century.
[Emblems of art from Boccioni to Tancredi. One hundred years of the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation 1899-1999] For the centennial of the donation of Ca’ Pesaro by Felicita Bevilacqua La Masa to the City of Venice, the Foundation of the same name organized, in 1999, a retrospective of works that have made history in 20th-century Venice. A long list of artists who set off from Opera Bevilacqua La Masa on paths that intertwined with that of the mainstream of Italian art. It was thanks to the intuition of Felicita Bevilacqua La Masa that Basaldella, Vedova, Tancredi, Finzi and many others among the greatest, most significant artists of the 20th century were able to find the opportunity to make their work known. The catalogue offers a critical counterpoint to the exhibition: the essays make new, original contributions, together with reflections on the group shows and a section on the artists and the works that have been part of the life of the Foundation.
