A complete overview of the history of the last fifty years of Italian architecture: the central themes of the recent architectural debate.
[The second half of the 1900s. History of Italian Architecture] A complete overview of the history of the last fifty years of Italian architecture. The essays address the central themes of the recent architectural debate – urban planning experiences, the evolution of the idea of the project, construction techniques, professional figures, restoration – and examine cultural developments in relation to homogeneous territorial areas.
The volume is divided into three large sections: the first contains the essays that discuss the historical background for the period, the second focuses in greater depth on specific themes, while the third is composed of the annotated indices, placed at the end of the volume, that gather and organize the critical interpretation, the documents, the salient episodes, offering the reader further precious material for reference. The imagery, composed of a photographic journey through 20th-century architecture, has been supplied by an exceptional photographer: Gabriele Basilico.
