Bernardo Bellotto, the great protagonist of the Venetian 1700s, and his memorable views of the European cities he visited.

Bernardo Bellotto, a great protagonist of the Venetian 1700s, was trained in the school of Canaletto, and visited the great Italian art cities with the master while still in his youth. But soon, driven by a desire for international contacts, he left Italy, and at the age of just 26 years began a splendid career in the courts of Europe, from Dresden to Vienna, Munich to Warsaw.
Bellotto has left us memorable images of each city, views of great expressive impact, in which his profound sensibilities capture the architectural, natural and human dimensions.
The catalogue of the exhibition held in Venice, curated by an outstanding panel of experts, offers the first complete overview of the painting of Bellotto, and a fundamental step in contemporary study of the artist. An opportunity to admire, in beautiful photographic reproductions, his masterpieces held in museums around the world.
