[Pompeii. The painted rooms] For the opening of the large hall of the Auditorium, Rome hosts an exhibition on two painted rooms found in the excavations of Moregine near Pompeii. These are two large frescoes (490×251 cm each) exhibited for the first time after their rediscovery and restoration.
Curated by the Archaeological Service of Pompeii, for the city of Rome this show represents an extraordinary preview of the exhibition held starting on 20 March 2003 at the Archaeological Museum of Naples, entitled “Stories from an eruption”, which will feature, after the long, complex restoration work, the entire cycle of paintings from Moregine.
