An approach to painting that speaks of the mechanisms of the gaze and the appearance of the image, using the landscape as a pretext.

Familiar places yet somehow unknown; interiors and exteriors similar to certain spaces which, seen in dreams, we seem to recognize yet are dense with mystery. Lombardi calls them posthumous places, with an immediate reference to architecture, gardens, views frozen in the here and now, in a timeless season. Places that are actually metaplaces, spaces which allude to the idea of other spaces which our memory knew in the past, and which preserve both the idea of an enclosed space and travel, order and chaos, logic and delirium, reality and utopia. The catalogue, curated and introduced by Rocco Ronchi, contains texts by Claudio Spadoni and a rich critical anthology.
