The catalogue of the solo exhibition by the Iranian artist who has chosen video and drawings to recreate a world of fable and melancholy. In her works, consisting of drawings on fabric or tissue paper, video animations and small oil paintings, Avish Khebrehzadeh combines the fascination of fables with the ancient tales of her tradition. The drawings, made with light pencil strokes and delicate colors, and the videos – accompanied by music reminiscent of ancient litanies – are part of a single process. The stillness of her drawings creates an immediate impact on the viewer, while video calls for a longer time for its narration, enabling the artist to construct the fables which are part of all her work.
