The volume collects the photographic fund managed by Mulas’s heirs. It represents an exceptional proof of the work of this photographer who portrayed the most important artists of his age, and was interested in the creative process of the work of art. Thirty years after this genial artist’s death, a wide selection of pictures allowing a reflection on the role of photography in relation with the world of art.
Already back in ’73 Mulas said: “To the photograph the task of individuating his reality, to the camera that of register it in its totality”. Two strictly connected but at the same time distinct actions, that are reminiscent of the operations made during the Twenties by artists inspired by Duchamps’ ready-made, and that freed photography from the eternal and controversial comparison with painting.
