The exhibition grew out of an initiative of "La Repubblica" which in 2007, for the ninth consecutive year, invited 60 writers and artists to create works - stories, drawings or paintings - for the newspaper's Rome pages.
Forty artists and forty writers explore places in the city where they were born or which they have lose ties with, through sculptures, paintings, drawings and photographs. The exhibition leads the visitor to study at first hand the working relationship developed between writers and artists: both the ties between the various paired authors and the relationships created between all the artists in words and images, as they recount and interpret spaces and stories of Rome. The survey offers an exhaustive panorama of developments in Italy, underlining the centrality of the situation in Rome as reflected on the national level.
