The greatest Italian photo-reporter's thoughts on his profession. A must-have book for all lovers of photo-reporting.

“Ethics are ethics. I don’t believe in specific ethics for reporters and the ensuing sub-ethics for photo-reporters” – words spoken by Ferdinando Scianna, one of the greatest names in Italian photography. Scianna started taking photographs in the 1960s when he was studying at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Palermo University. In 1963, he met Leonardo Sciascia with whom he published the first of many books, later produced together: Feste Religiose in Sicilia, for which he won the Nadar Prize. In 1967, he started working for L’Europeo as a photo-reporter, special correspondent and, later, correspondent in Paris, where he stayed for ten years. While there, he met Henri Cartier-Bresson and joined the Magnum Photos agency in 1982.
