"De Dominicis may know the nature if the language he is using, but he never tries to tame or dominate it. Instead, he backs up the action of that language trough the adoption of procedures predicated upon both choice and design". Achille Bonito Oliva

This is the first anthological exhibition dedicated to the artist, accompanied by a catalogue that not only documents the exhibition but the artist’s entire life’s work. Gino De Dominicis may be regarded as one of the most emblematic and mysterious figures of Italian art in the period following WWII. The artist who, from many points of view is still very elusive, is surrounded by his own legendary aura. The exhibition, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, constitutes a rare opportunity to see about 70 of De Dominicis’ most important works. More than 220 of the works are reproduced in the catalogue, together with a selection of the many papers and articles written by him. In addition to the curator, other scholars from different backgrounds reconstruct the vast scenario of the artist’s cultural interests: philosopher Massimo Donà, archaeologist Giovanni Pettinato, mathematician Claudio Bartocci, art critic Gabriele Guercio, Italo Tomassoni, director of the Friends of Gino De Dominicis Association and Fabio Sargentini, owner of the gallery that first displayed his works.
