Author of the treatise on architecture De Re Aedificatoria, he designed a small number of buildings: the Tempio Malatestiano in Rimini, the commissions for Giovanni Rucellai, Palazzo Rucellai and Santa Maria Novella in Florence, and the churches of Sant’Andrea San Sebastiano in Mantua. He died in 1472.
